"This revelry was a kind of fear, for hatred was the fear people let themselves enjoy."

A delightful and dark fairytale that somehow manages to be both gruesome and feel like cozy fantasy at the same time. There's a sapphic monster romance with an asexual human woman that is incredibly sweet. It's also very funny and has some great twists and turns.

A love story like I've never read before, mixing in horror themes with romance and wholesomeness. I had no idea where the story was taking me and it was great. The characters were refreshing and I found them relatable and fascinating.

It is a very difficult book to recommend to people because it feels very niche and it's hard to explain the plot without the other person getting weirded out, but I hope others give it the chance it deserves and I will recommend it to everyone who wants some romance with gore and body horror sprinkled in!
