It was a Novella, which I tend to not like as it just doesn't give you enough depth but I did like this story. It was a pair of best friends who made a promise to marry each other if they were still single when they were both 40. However Donovan's grandfather passes away and leaves a provision in his will for Donovan to be married. So he tries to push up the timeline with Becca who he has had feeling for since they were kids. She doesn't know if and when he makes the proposal to speed up the date, she agrees. How determined Donovan is to win her over and make it a forever kind of marriage is really sweet. I like how much they knew about each other being best friends, but that isn't to say it is a smooth ride. Sweet story, a little light on details, and some misunderstandings. I wished it had been longer but that is the sign of a good story.

Donovan is a super nice guy who has loved his best friend Becca since they were 14 and Becca is a sweet girl who always chooses the wrong guy all the while also being in love with Donovan. It's only once Donovan hand is forced does he come up with a plan to make Becca his, but boy for a smart guy he can be pretty dumb even when his friends are trying to help. I would have loved to see this as a full novel as Merri Maywether could expand on quiet a bit of details bot even so the way it is is definitely enough for a cute and addictive read that leaves you with warm fuzzies.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was a free novella that I got on Amazon, about two friends who have known each other for ever and have a pact where if they are not married by the time they are 40 then they will marry each other. It was a decent enough story, but not enough depth. I thought it was going to be more predictable than it was, although it kind of ended where I thought it would. The characters were all fairly likeable and the storyline was realistic. It’s a short, enjoyable HEA type story and is helped me get over my reading hump.
