De todas as séries de fantasia urbana ( e restantes subdivisões) esta série da K.A é das minhas preferidas, por isso já sabia que ao comprar este livro não ia ter desilusões.
Para quem já conhece a série e os seus protagonistas, esta é oportunidade de clarificar certas situações e de ficarmos a conhecer como muitos deles se conheceram .
" Rebirth", conta-nos como Aaron se transformou em vampiro e como ele e Cassandra se conheceram.
"Bewitched" é acerca de Eve Levine e Kristoff Nash. Como se conheceram e porque se separaram. Gostei tanto do conto que deu-me vontade de reler o livro " Haunted", o livro dos dois. As 66 páginas souberam a pouco.
"Birtright"- Algumas coisas nunca mudam. E Clay Danvers é uma delas. Feroz protector de Jeremy Danvers, ele é do tipo de reagir primeiro e fazer perguntas depois. Aqui ficamos a saber como correu o primeiro encontro entre ele e Logan. Digamos que a coisa....não correu bem...
"Beginnings", apresenta-nos uma jovem Elena que se prepara para assistir a uma aula do Dr. Clayton Danvers...o professor resmungão. Bastante bom permite-nos finalmente conhecer a história do romance atribulado deste dois.
"Expectations", onde Lucas Cortez enfrenta a famosa Eve Levine.
"Ghosts", dá-nos uma amostra das verdadeiras capacidades de Jeremy.
"Wedding Bell Hell", casamento de Paige e Lucas com interferências de amigos familiares e Savannah.
" The case of El Chupacabra", apresenta-nos Lucas e Paige em acção.
Uma boa colecção de contos que não dispensa a leitura dos restantes livros da série. Um bom livro.

Tales of the Otherworld combined two of my most favorite things: Kelley Armstrong’s writing and short stories. I adored this collection. I really liked the stories that provided history for some of the lesser characters that we encounter in the Otherworld series, such as Council characters. I also loved the backstory that was provided on Eve and Kristof and how their relationship formed and then disintegrated.
I adored this book. I absolutely recommend it to Kelley Armstrong fans and fans of urban fiction. Even if you haven’t read the Otherworld series, you can still pick up this book and enjoy the stories.

I normally do not read short stories because I just start to get invested in the characters and boom! the story is over. This is a collection of tales that build on Armstrong's Otherworld characters. It explains how several main characters met and fell in love and also includes some of their early adventures. It was nice to finally learn how Clayton came to bite Elena and how Kristof and Eve met. I also liked the story of how Paige and Lucas worked together to begin building their company in Portland. Don't bother if you do not already know and love these characters, but if you want some backstory, check it out.

I enjoyed reading the Tales of the Otherworld, but would suspect it is a book largely for fans.
"Rebirth" is a vampire birthing tale, which was moderately interesting. I had forgotten how vampires worked in Armstrong's world. "Bewitched" was one of the better stories, and describes the meeting and sweet romance between Eve Levine and Kristof Nast. I've always had a problem with Eve's character in Armstrong books, because her characterization varies so much depending on which book/story. When she is first introduced (chronologically)we are given to understand she is a witch of the blackest order. I enjoyed this background tale a great deal, but continue to be confused about the extreme dichotomy we see in her character, from sensitive, misunderstood mother to black witch for hire, willing to kill as needed.
"Birthright" is the story of a werewolf coming of age. This one didn't do it for me; I think it wasn't long enough or well enough characterized to care about Logan. The other men in the story are familiar from other books, but I had forgotten who one of them was, and there wasn't really enough background to help me remember. Definitely a fan-only piece.
"Beginnings" is the standout story, an engrossing read and remindng me of Bitten, why I started reading Armstrong in the first place. (Note to self: add Bitten to personal collection). A story of how Elena and Clay met and fell in love, and does well to capture the singlemindedness of the werewolf and the unsureness of Elena's feelings.
"Expectations" is about Eve and Lucas, a number of years after the first story in the collection. Anticlimactic storyline. I tend to dislike Lucas' voice as narrator and think it sounds very stilted. "Ghosts" is definitely a fan piece, and reads like a scene that ought to be from a longer format. It was interesting because I knew the character from the novels, but still didn't feel like fleshed out enough. It's the sort of scene that comes to you in inspiration, but needs to be written and lengthened to come to shareable fruition.

"The Case of El Chupacabra" wasn't a particularly strong mystery, but had nice moments about Lucas and Page's relationship. Again told in Lucas' voice. Had bonus moments of Cassandra, a vampire at the end of life, who provides moments of levity through her sheer non-interest in most human activities.

If you loved the series this is a great book to follow up with. I loved all the stories except for the last, The Case of El Chupacabra.I forced myself to finish it but spaced out quite a few times... boring! Other than that great read :)

I loved this collection! My favourites parts were the stories of Eve and Kristoff and Clay and Elena. Best pre-stories. :)

Armstrong's writing is always a pleaser. You get 2 smaller stories about Logan (Elena's closest friend in the pack that gets killed in Bitten) and Aaron (vampire,that I haven't encountered in any that I have read but I am shy 3 books). There are 3 larger stories. How Eve hooks up with Kristof. Which is nice and reminds me why I like Eve so much. Lucas and Paige get married and get the Portland office. The juicy one is about Clay meeting Elena all the way to the bite.
