I got the first book from the library by chance and loved it so much that after reading it I went out and bought the series. Devoured all three books and enjoyed this dive into Russian folklore immensely.

Yes, it’s magical & wonderful. For me, it’s something I feel in my soul. It’s hard to be a girl, in the world. Then, now, maybe always- but hopefully not forever.

I loved this dark, atmospheric fantasy which includes great characters and wonderful, strange bonds between them, the beautiful enchanting horses, and even the beings she can see.  Vasya develops so well as a character.
