I really like Pargin's work and i really like this book too but it is incredibly forgettable. How do i know it? Because i forgot i read it, and onlyrealized i did halfway through the novel, at one of the more memorable parts. Because where it is memorable, Pargin's work is incredible and sticks with you. The man really thinks about weird stuff and really is funny. Go follow him on the tiktaks.
The third John book, memorability aside is fun and insightful and has a lot of dildo and butt references. Pargin has a style of his own and unlike other "developed on the internet" styles (i'm looking at you Cline) does not become dated and tiring and cringeworthy, or at least it doesn't do that for myself. I've been reading Pargin/Wong since Cracked days and like an interdimensional mind larva he has bloomed into something very likeable. So much so that i woll be segwaying into the forth John book directly.

Very Douglas Adams coded, never knew where this book was going and I loved that about it. Just along to giggle for the ride- 10/10.

This book was better than the second but not as great as the first. The themes of depression, suicide, worst fears, and greatest desires were all a bit jumbled up and hard to piece together any sense. But as an action thriller horror mystery it was pretty good.
Strangely I found myself rooting both for and against Amy simultaneously throughout the story, but that probably says more about me than it does about the author.

i don’t usually like books so obviously written by and in the voice of a ~*dude*~ but this book was fun, surprising, and actually laugh out loud funny in parts. i had no idea it was the third in a series - i sometimes go into book stores and literally judge books by their covers, just buying whatever cover stands out to me in a genre section i like - but i’ll probably go back and read the first two and maybe even the author’s other works. cool.
pretty funny for a monsters book. I wish I'd read the earlier ones first!
If you like a story that's strange, rather profane and fond of crude humor, and deeply complicated, this is your kind of book.
Though it's full of inhuman monsters, it's also a very human book--dealing with depression, relationships, unequal love, and the choice between comfortable lies and uneasy truth. A madcap adventure, rushing the reader by explosions, car chases, and various monsters at high enough speed that it's barely noticeable that not everything quite makes sense. But in the end, a lot of it does, and that's good enough for me.
