This story had a lot going on and sometimes I was left a bit confused, especially with the names near the end. There was a lot of back and forth between different timelines and people and it became a bit much at points. It also left many questions but I suspect they will be answered in the next two books. I really enjoyed the main storyline and the twists and turns and that's why I've given this book 4 stars. I think it has a really interesting concept and I'm excited to see where it goes. However, I'm really hoping that in the next two books, things aren't so complicated. That being said, I have read the author's more recent books prior to reading this one and acknowledge that this was his first novel. I can definitely see where he has improved his writing when comparing this book to more recent releases. Overall, it was an interesting story and I look forward to the next book in the trilogy.

This book.
THIS. BOOK.

Absolutely wonderful. So engaging and immersive. I enjoyed everything about this book. It also got me wanting to do research on many of the scientific theories it discusses and this is a book I can easily see myself rereading time and again.

this is a right-wing american man’s wet dream: nazism, curing autism, 9/11 conspiracy theories, and eugenics. an absolutely insane book. but actually pretty good somehow??

It is an interesting but super weird book. Plot is quite catchy, but the book itself is unnecessarily long. A lot of stories between turning points that don’t contribute to the flow.

Did not like how it ended.

I have always been fascinated by the idea of Atlantis. This first time author "reveals" secrets about the Atlantean culture through a winding, page-turning tale of intersecting fictional histories in an almost believable way. So excited for the second book!

I agree with some of the other reviewers. It's a very interesting premise but not executed very well. It DOES feel more like a movie script. Or an episode of Scooby Doo where everything is explained to you, spoonful by spoonful at the end. "...and I did THIS to you so THIS would happen!", etc. everything was spelled out and nothing was left up to the reader's imagination.

However I liked it enough to buy the second installment, but I don't think I'll be able to make it through that book. It's just not very good writing.

I would probably give it a higher rating were it not for one thing. This book had it all: sci-fy, hints of romance, action, thriller-style narration, and conspiracy. The one thing that turned me off were the two gratuitous sex scenes. They felt thrown in more for effect than for actual necessity or plot. I liked the overall plot and felt like I couldn’t put the book down. If the author could are-think any one thing, I wish he would’ve kept the romance as more of a suggestion than an “in-your-face” raunchy type of physical experience. Less is more.
