Spoilers!!

Just finished the audiobook of Ward D -super fast-paced & the narration was done well (of the audiobook). The twists were a bit predictable, but the ending really saved it for me. I loved that the little girl came back & we learned more about her.

Usually I don’t enjoy unreliable narrators, but here it worked well. I was convinced Jade was just in her head, so I was pleasantly surprised she wasn’t. And that ending 👏

This is my 2nd Frieda McFadden book this week & she’s really doing it for me right now. Characters were stronger here than in The Boyfriend, but I still get irritated at her making these main characters so pathetic you almost don’t care if they live or die 😅

This book was a trip.

I always love going into thrillers not trying to guess what’s going to happen so it can be a bit more fun for myself and glad I did with this.

Pretty obvious Jade had something to do with things going on in there but still a nice surprise about Dr Beck.

Some parts did seem very bland and 2ad, like Cam and a few other characters dying, that felt very brushed over and “eh” feeling for the characters that were men’s to build a connection with.

It’s sad how this is how schizophrenic ppl are portrayed in this book imma be real lol but fun to read a murder mystery in a place other than a hotel or house.

The ending was also bland & could do with a little more depth into the main characters life afterwards and her seeing the little girl, but overall a good first book into McFadden.

I was finally convinced to give McFadden another try after not caring much for her recent Novelette, Death Row. This is my 2nd read by McFadden and I can say I enjoyed it much more than my first. The twists actually got me, which is unusual as I'm usually pretty good at figuring them out.
