I really enjoyed this book but the ending just wasn’t it for me
dark fast-paced

I enjoyed this book. I was always suss about Dr Beck - sorry but no doctor cares that little about what is happening on THEIR Ward. For example, when Amy was knocking on his door repeatedly and he simply didn’t care, saying comments such as ‘what now?’ Etc = SUSS!

I had my suspicions about Amy and the voices because I originally thought she was a patient and was imaging everything, so it isn’t surprising to me she actually did see the little girl and does really suffer with her MH.

As I said I did really enjoy this book but it did not represent people with mental illness very well. It made it sound like everyone with a MH issue was truly crazy, dangerous and violent.

Absolutely fantastic book, I did not expect the twists whatsoever. I absolutely love how Freida's writing has you thinking it'll play out one way just for you to be shocked by how it does. Really interesting read.

I think this might be my favourite Freida book so far!

A student/trainee doctor, locked in a psych ward on a night shift with no phone signal?!?! What could possibly go wrong….

Omg this book was tense, it gripped me from the start and I couldn’t put it down. The book goes back and forth between now and 8 years ago, as we learn more about trainee doctor Amy.

I did feel there was a little humour too 😂 when we met Spider Dan, and it was suggested he should make a web from dental floss….

Thank you Freida! This book got me out of a slump!
