Such an enjoyable book! My first Arkady Renko story, and I will definitely check out the others. He's everything you want in a detective character; stubborn, human, and gets his sh*t kicked in on the regular.

The only major female character is revealed near the end of the book to be in an abusive relationship with her estranged husband. Arkady sees the two having sex, and it is heavily implied it is not consensual. The scene is brief and not overly detailed, and the woman escapes her husband by the end of the novel.
