Another nice story in this series. This one seemed to make more of a difference in breaking the curse. Ares is very aloof to the other gods and living with his own pain for years. Niko has been trying to find a way to live his life as he wants but feels trapped with his father’s expectations.

I have the feeling this series may continue but it isn’t said specifically one way or the other at the end of this story. My biggest frustration with this story was the goddesses’ hypocrisies but most of them are now taking a stand against Hera.

I received an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.

I have really been enjoying this series, but it just keeps getting better. After wondering why Ares was such a secretive jerk in the previous books, we find out the truth and BOY does he have every reason to be. I cried right as the book started, and my heart went out to him something fierce. As we finally get to know Ares and see him with his son, I got to appreciate him and why he was the way he was. Niko was a great partner for him. This was a slow burn with the guys not really getting together until the end, but there was so much to be worked out that I thought the pacing was perfect. There were more tears as we moved through the book, and this one really stayed with me. I think this has been my favorite of the series so far. All of the others were focused on finding the spark. This one was focused on moving forward and finding happiness again. A different feel to this book, but a lovely one. I’m an Ares fan now. Can’t wait to read the next book!
