I have been doing really good, just picking up whatever sounds good, and the second I saw the 7th Circle, I knew I needed to read it ASAP. I really loved seeing everything this first book was starting. Still, there were moments where I was confused or felt like I was missing something, and honestly, if I had read the Madison Kate series, it would've been answered. Technically, the series is barely connected due to being set in the same world. But since she's the first series in this interconnected universe, we would've gotten a better introduction to the world. I still haven't read that series yet, but I want to. I wanted to give some space to start fresh with Madison Kate and not feel like anything's being spoiled since we saw her and her guys in this book quite a bit.

Anyway, 7th Circle does start rough. I really loved meeting her in the bar and learning about her gang and the empire she's built. Still, she's feeling really down on herself due to Cass turning her down again, and that's how she meets Lucas. Lucas is like her fresh breath of air since he's new to town and not connected to her criminal empire in any way, and the two end up hooking up. Afterward, we meet Zed and see that there's something between these two friends, too, but neither has acted on it. He's her best friend, and second in command, so he's been around since they were both kids. Eventually, this will become a reverse harem, but in this first book, she's only with Lucas, and Mr. Lucas has some pretty big secrets of his own! Outside of the romance, we see the criminal organization starting to be attacked. We don't know who or why is doing all of this, but Hades and Zed can't believe the only answer that makes sense because that threat was handled a long time ago. But this is the first book in this series, and we are just starting to scratch the surface, and of course, it does end in a cliffhanger. I had to pick up the next book immediately because I needed to know what was happening!

We love a badass FMC who calls the shots and takes no bullshit. Does Hades need a man? No, but then we wouldn’t get the steamy spicy scenes that Tate James so masterfully creates. Also a motorcycle named Fat Bob? Sign me up!

As expected after my love for the Madison Kate series I dove straight into Hades’s series and was rewarded with  another series I’m already starting to love!
It was capturing though there wasn’t exactly a lot that happened.

I like how casually they are dealing with talking about sex in non romantic relationships and asking for consent during. In general the characters that function at (possible) love interests are all very respectful with Hades.

Hades is everything you’d wish for in a bad ass heroine. She is strong and respected but also has her vulnerabilities. I love how she always masquerades not caring about anything or anyone but you can clearly see how deeply she cares for her sister and her friends, especially Zed.

„Because as a woman holding as much power as I did in a man's world, I could never show weakness or vulnerability. I could never let anyone think my rules were negotiable or optional. The punishments for disobeying me were swift and bloody; it was the only way I could stay on top. It was the only way I could confidently keep Seph safe and give her the future she deserved.
I'd do fucking anything for my little sister. Anything.“

I love the friendship of Zed and Hades so much even if there are conflicts and a lot of tension they can always count on each other. I am very excited to see things progress between them as well as between Hades and Cass. At the point of this books ending everything is left open and I’m looking forward to seeing further developments!

This was such a good book from start to finish. The characters and plot are interesting. The story is fast enough as to not get boring but not so fast as to lose you. I can't wait to read the next book!
