It started really interesting but I progressively lost interest in both plot and characters.
I think it could benefit of being more condensed and shorter overall as there were parts that did drag quite a bit or became repetitive.
Son the other hand, her prose and writing is absolutely gorgeous.

I’m honestly surprised I liked this so much. I’m not a huge historical fiction fan but this was quite wonderful. I found the characters all interesting and memorable, and the plot worked well within the setting. The pacing was superb, there wasn’t a part that dragged or that felt too quick to me. This was just a really lovely book and I’m glad I read it.
