I had trouble keeping track of what’s going on in this book. Probably because I was reading it late at night. Really just getting the vibes of it. And the vibes were good.

“Heroes are always somehow glorified by future generations whether they want to be or not. And eventually, the story becomes unrecognizable.”
I feel like the story is really starting to drag a bit in this volume. The fights with the demons we met in the last volume took up 5 chapters (half the volume). They were really badass and satisfying for sure, but it started to feel a little repetitive. Then the crew started wandering through the snow and the volume felt even more directionless, especially when they randomly met a shirtless monk that they were constantly making jokes about, which just got a bit tiring.
I really loved all the tiny moments of Frieren, Fern, and Stark interacting with each other though, always earnest and sometimes hilarious. So they continue to make the story enjoyable. But I think I'm going to consume this story from now on via the anime instead of these volumes. The breaks between volumes feel so random, and the anime flows a lot more smoothly between episodes.
