Deník bláznivého starce je klasikou japonské literatury od Tanizakiho. Je to zatím první kniha, kterou jsem od něj četla, a i když jsem jí popravdě úplně nepochopila, zaujala mě. Kniha je celá psána formou deníkových zápisů staršího muže. Pan Ucugi žije v Tokiu, které se od jeho dětství hodně změnilo a největším vzrušením jeho života je zezačátku pohled na jeho snachu, který později přerůstá i v něco jiného (nemyslím si, že se dá říkat láska). Jejich vztah je něčím zároveň, krásným, ale i něčím, co by většina lidí nazvala úchylným a přiznávám, že i mě přišel podivný. Kniha byla svým zvláštním způsobem zajímavá a rozhodně bych si chtěla přečíst i další z jeho knih.

Cuando compre este libro tenia miedo de que fuera excesivamente deprimente, nunca pensé que seria excesivamente pervertido. Es un hombre viejo que, aunque padece impotencia, dice no poder dejar de sentir atracción hacia las mujeres, especialmente hacia la esposa de su hijo. La dinámica de Utsugi (el viejito) y Satsuko (daughter-in-law) me pareció horrible, y mi libro ideal no incluye a viejito sucking on his daughter-in-law's toes. Lo que me llego a gustar en ocasiones es como era super cizañoso y descarado, y ver como sus acciones escalaban mientras pasaba el tiempo. Desde que lo empecé ya lo quería acabar, y pues si, porfin lo acabe. Pensé que iba a tener como un gran final, pero cuando empezaron las doctor notes supe que iba a ser super anticlimatico. Fuera de todo eso, es bastante realista, y el autor hace un buen trabajo creando dinámicas complejas y casi tangibles entre los personajes.
