Sweet and deep contemporary YA about dares and promposals, outgrowing friendships, and calling out microaggressions from people you love.

Was so ready to not hear this kid give every detail of that persons life. Also, let’s stop promposals.

The first half of the book is SLOW. A lot of info is given, but not much going on plot wise. The second half it picks up. There’s more character and story development. I wound up really loving all of the side characters, and eventually Theo grew on me. It’s a sweet story with a lot of heart. I was really touched by the friendships between the bedroom party group.

I don't generally like books that happen in the same day/short period of time, so that did bother me a bit. But that's just a personal preference, as I don't feel like a couple hours can change the way you see your entire life, or more specifically, you can't process it all in such a short time.
Still, the book is great. The characters are so unique, they have such strong personalities, and that's something I always want from books, specially in the ya genre. The topics discussed are so important, and that alone should convince you to read this book. Another pro is how short it is, I think it took four hours to read.

DNF :(
I honestly feel like this author is so promising and I will be reading some of their other work, I simply didn’t connect with this book
