MUST READ NOW (and the movie is just *wow*) beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. quote to motivate you: “you see things. you keep quiet about them. and you understand, you are a wallflower”~another, “and for the first time, something nice like that made me smile and not cry.” DROP EVERYTHING AND GO READ THIS!!!! (also the movie does serve the book justice *logan lerman <3*)

this is one if my favorite book/movies of all time, charlie is such a loveable character as are his friends. a nice coming of age story that also incorporates darker themes.

This book is absolutely beautiful to read and even after watching the movie already I had a great time reading this, well mostly that is. I think this book is a great representation of what it is like to be a suicidal/ mentally ill teenager. I really did feel seen reading this and I am so grateful for that. The only problem I had with this was the fact that it made me really sad and I had to take week long brakes reading this for self-care reason because reading about Charlie's suicidal thoughts was almost a little contagious. But when you take the breaks that you need this book is amazing and a must read for everyone!!

I have mixed feelings about this book... it is a great coming-of-age story and the characters are super lovable, but I didn't love the format it was written in and I don't think it quite lived up to the hype. my favorite part of it was how much they talked about music in the book so that I could listen while I read and feel more connected to the characters
