this was a nostalgia reread for me. i was obsessed with these books in elementary school and read and reread them constantly.
i haven’t read them in a couple years so i decided to read them again to see if they hold up like i remember. i’ve also been in a major reading slump so i thought it would be a fun way to help.
sadly, i don’t think it holds up for me. i wasn’t having as much fun reading it as i used to. maybe i need to read volumes 2 and 3 to truly be able to judge it.

Fantastic art, brilliant story, great characters, some of the best dialogue in the history of comics. Having it in colour really enhances the story too. I feel like I've said this before, but when you read something you loved ten years ago and you still love it, you know it's Good. Not much else to say about this one!
