I had hight hopes for Let The Bad Times Roll. I LOVED Death of a Book Seller, it was a 5* read. But Slaters 2nd novel did not live up to my expectations.

I did not care about any of the characters. They were so unlikeable and some of them had no impact on the plot.

The plot itself was odd. I felt like the POVs of each character would lead to the outcome but nope, they were just there to tell the backstory of the missing person. The only POV which really mattered were the tarot reader and the missing person.

And finally the chapters were way too long and this lead to no tension and slowed the pace down so much.

I tried to listen to the audiobook and that didn't help either.
