I don’t even know what to rate this because it’s not at all what I anticipated. I knew that it would not be a continuation of Poppy and Cas’ story, but I did not know it would pretty much be an FBAA and Flesh and Fire glossary/index. The information while thorough was extremely repetitive. This could be of use to a reader who wafts a guide while reading, but it had no added benefit for me.

This book is kind of like a summary of from blood and ash and the flesh and fire series up until this point with character backstories
If you’re just here for smut, move along. But if you want to deep dive into the why behind the characters, magic, and messed-up world of Nyktos and Poppy? This is your Bible.
Visions of Flesh and Blood isn’t a novel—it’s a beautifully packaged lore dump. A glossary on steroids. A character study with receipts. It adds layers to what you thought you understood and makes you go, “Ahhh… so THAT’S why he’s emotionally damaged.”
Highly recommend if you’re obsessed with either series and want all the behind-the-scenes, mythology-rich context. Bonus: actual answers to questions the books only vaguely waved at.
