What a delightful book! I had so much fun reading this, it was so heartwarming seeing characters from previous books and I hope the author writes more books where they’re present.

A disappointing ending to a very enjoyable series.
The small tidbits that we had scene from the previous books of Merrit painted a fascinating character, however, unfortunately she seems to have taken much from her father and not enough from her mother. Which was unfortunate, but didn’t make the book dreadful. Just a little bit boring every once in a while.
The male lead was… fine. I don’t personally have any real opinion on him, other than, perhaps, the fact that the plot twist was very predictable.
But, I enjoyed seeing old characters reappear, which really shines in the strengths of this novel. It’s definitely feels like fan service (which is great!).

A very sweet and charming book!

If you're looking for external conflict that serves any purpose besides shoving the couple cloawr together in idyllic isolation, look elsewhere, this book is not that. However, this book offers one of the sweetest versions of "insta-love" I've ever encountered; Merritt and Keir are deeply sensible, considerate people who happen to find each other under the exact right circumstances to be blindsided by how well suited they are, despite their superficial differences.

I thought it was clever that the separation of the characters happened in the middle of the book on a emotional (but not geographical) level- it gave us time to enjoy the end of the book with them firmly married and exploring their partnership. I will say that nothing MUCH happens in the back quarter of the book, but I do like that this book is much quieter than a lot of Kleypas' other work (I know, there's an explosion, but it's still quiet compared to the other shit she's pulled).

The sex is divine and Keir's love words, the way you know that he loves Merritt long before he actually says the words because he's already said them a million different ways, are enough to make you cry. Points off for the miracle baby tho - let some couples be childless in romance novels PLEASE!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced review copy of this book.

I do love a historical romance. Not entirely "historical," but definitely fun. The romance really took a while to win me over (not really one for "insta-love"), but overall I really enjoyed this book. The characters were fun and I really liked the character of Merritt.
