Michelle Heard has done it again! What a book! She wrote another fantastic story that kept me riveted to my Kindle, full of emotional moments, wonderful characters and a plot that really surprised me. This one was on par with the Sinner series, truly magnificent.
In the first book of this series, Abigail appeared flighty and frivolous. In her insistence to take everything lightly, she cost Aurora a beating in their first fighting class. I didn’t like her much because I thought she was an airhead, and her only redeeming factor was the love she felt for her bestie. In this story, the author goes deeper into who is Abigail and we meet a wonderful young woman. Yes, she’s a flirt and she’s upfront on her sensuality but I loved how she took Nikolai on a ride. I especially loved how she called him Daddy and how he rose to attention every time she called him that, hilarious!
Nikolai, being the grump to Abigail’s sunshine, kept complaining but he was slowly being reeled in to Abigail’s charms. I think that when he saw her painting, and how beautiful her paintings are, he started to change his opinion. The paintings revealed there is an intense and creative person behind the brush and that woke up his curiosity about this young woman. Soon, the gap in their ages stopped being important!
The book is initially fun with Nikolai’s grumblings and Abby’s teasing until it took a dramatic turn. There’s a very emotional and traumatic scene that the author treated with the utmost care and kindness, and the aftermath was beautiful in its tragedy but also in the care of those around. When an author makes you cry and admire the talent in creating this world that is full of crime and caring, you know you found a winner.
I loved how the story goes from fun and games, to drama and trauma, and on to cheesy scenes full of love and romance. It truly was a rollercoaster of emotions and it felt cathartic to cry because it was so dang sad, then rejoice because the good guy rescued the princess from her evil family. Another masterpiece!

Nikolai and Abbie are perfection together! She is hilarious 😂 this girl did not back down from what she wanted. She's sassy, funny, and everything Nikolai thought he hated. There is such a small line between love and hate. Nikolai, while overbearing, was so patient with her with her trauma. He did everything for her. I'm so proud of Abbie's strength. She suffered so much yet she preserved. She felt broken but she never broke. Nikolai was there for her every step. I also appreciate Alek and the kindness he showed Abbie. I wonder what happened that made him a "monster" in his eyes.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review of Control Me by Michelle Heard.
OKAY FIRST AND FOREMOST! I received ARC of Destro Me by Michelle Heard as well AND I gobbled it up and couldn't have waited for Nikolai and Abbie! These two characters deserved their own story because the way they were in Destroy Me just had me gripping the edge of the damn seat! Also, when reading this, proceed with caution!
Abigail Sartori, aka, Abbie, the FMC, is Aurora's best friend, whom we met in Destroy Me. Abbie is the Mafia princess. Nikolai Vetrov, the MMC, is Carson's nephew, whom we met also in Destroy Me training Abbie and Aurora. You know what somehow, even before I read their story, even in Destroy Me, Nikolai was being portrayed as a daddy, and I love daddies

4.5 ⭐
this book follows the same timeline as the first book but it doesn't feel repetitive at all because their pov was so good. their chemistry was so much HOTTER + the character development so much BETTER done than the first book. also the dirty talk and smut oh dear lord had me biting my lips, curling my toes and breathing heavily at 3am. I COULD FEEL THEIR TENSION!!! i NEED nikolai vetrov to call me his little girl
This book felt like two different parts one before the kidnapping (that we see in the first book from aurora's pov) and the other part is dealing with PTSD and overcoming it which is handled very carefully in the book. I'm very thankful to Alec, he was such a good friend to Abbie. IM SO PROUD OF ABBIE for all that she has overcome throughout this book and Nikolai...My man literally went from never wanting to get married as it'll ruin his perfectly planned routine to worshipping Abbie like a goddess and wanting to burn the world for her.
"I’ve avoided relationships because I didn’t want anyone messing with my perfectly constructed life, and now I want Abigail to mess up every part of it."
BOY OBSESSED FR
"You’re the only woman I’ll kneel before."
im a wh0re for men that are dominant but also radiate "I'll worship the ground you walk on cause you own me "energy
MY MAN IS A WALKING GREEN FLAG which is so rare in mafia books. i crave this so badly in dark romance books. i loved loooved and absolutely ate this book up.
