What can I say with words that will not ruin it ? Prepare to be surprised, shocked and emotional. Her characters are so well developed you feel it when anything happens to them. The world is amazing, beautiful and filled with hidden treasures. This book was better than the one before and I loved that one. I find that Ms Armentrout writes the words that makes my soul happy.

This book seems so dawn out. I feel like what was happening was poppy warring with the same internal dialog over and over and over again. The will they won’t they just got annoying, because they just kept doing it.

I think it’s like 4-5 days where it’s ENDLESS internal dialog of poppy upset she has feels, in denial about the feels, confusion about the feels. She’s always saying “whatever” which I find annoying.

There was mention one time of her
smelling old, but not of moth balls and stale peppermint candy
which just felt like that did not align with this world where running water and electricity was uncommon, or based on the other language used. Idk it felt off to me, took me out of the story.

This could be a much shorter book if the REPETITIVE inner dialog just shrank, substantially.

They got fucking married and didn’t even say I love you, they FUCKED right next to a dead person in a carriage while a battle was still happening
Idk the smut was trying but it was some weird amount of halfassing that made me just laugh.

The end of the book, literally the last 10% is where it actually got good. I’ll probably take a break from this series for now because that was tiring..
