Thank you Sourcebooks Casablanca for the advance copy!
Along Came Holly by Codi Hall was an anticipated read for me since I have read both Nick & Noel Christmas Playlist and There’s Something About Merry. I stalked NetGalley until it became available. I wanted to read it so bad.
Holly and Declan were featured in both books bickering as enemies do. Maybe I overhyped it in my head but I was a little let down. It’s a fun holiday story but fell a little flat.
Read if you love:
• enemies to lovers
• holiday cheer
• Christmas Elf vs The Grinch

three thoughts that ran through my mind during this book:
• who would have thought people in their thirties could be so immature?
• okay but what’s the plot?
• thankfully the smut is good

A cute lil Christmas read. Despite what they may say in their internal monologues, I feel that are all rather forgiving of the other characters and vulnerable with their feelings. This creates an atmosphere for minimal conflict, which I guess is chill if that’s what you like in a romance. Also, Holly and Declan SUCK at friends with benefits. RIGHT OUT THE GATE. To be fair, twas expected true love would follow and prosper for lil miss Holly.

Ohhhh I hated this so much. This had promise in the beginning. I love a proper grumpy x sunshine rom com. But this went from cute prank wars to just extremely annoying reallllll quick. Both characters were unbearable, ESPECIALLY Declan. They honestly didn't really have a lot of chemistry and acted like middle schoolers, to be honest. I can't think of one thing I really enjoyed about this book and it was way too long for an audible Christmas rom com, even as I listened at 3x speed to just get through it.

My least favorite out of the Mistletoe series, but still cute enough for 3 stars.
