“If the thought of losing someone doesn’t scare the shit out of you, then it’s not love.”

From childhood to adulthood, we join their journey as circumstances, time, and distance, continually separate these two best friends, forcing them to live and grow without their other half.

—» Would I Recommend? This story isn’t a quick and easy read. Frustration, anger, joy, sadness, betrayal; your emotions will be all over the spectrum. If you’re prepared for that, give this book a try.

Really love the relationship between the two characters and the backstory. Love the angst and the twists and turns that the story takes. A bit of an emotional rollercoaster.

This book is freaking AWESOME! It is scary, intriguing, twisty turny. It is horrific and dark in its plot details. It is so well written you can feel everything that is happening in the story. It is my first MC book and now I am hooked. I love Lily White's works and this is another 5 star piece. This book will give you nightmares and leave you breathless. It is Badass and awesome. Holly is a phenomenal character. I love how kick ass she is. This is a beautiful crazy book! LOVED IT! I couldn't put it down and I wanted more when it was over.

I liked this book. But I didn't love this book and I'll tell you why. I spent the majority of this book screaming at Skylar because I thought that she was being selfish and stupid!! Throughout the book Skylar makes decisions for both her and Mitch without so much as having a conversation with him. In her defense she does think that she's doing what's best for them when these decisions are made, but it still irked me. There was a point in the book where it was said that Skylar was honest to a fault and I just didn't see that coming from her once they got to a certain point in their lives. Instead of being honest with the person she loved and who was supposed to be her best friend she took matters into her own hands and ran when things got tough...twice!!! On the other end of the spectrum...there's Mitch. I loved him so much. He loved Skylar to a fault and with everything he had. Every decision he made was for her and his undying love for her was the only thing that kept me rooting for them to be together in the end. I feel like I got to the point where I wanted them to be together simply for the fact that I could bear to see him heartbroken again. I loved that they got their HEA and that everything worked out in the end, but the journey there was a rough one for me. Overall, I would still recommend this book because I know not everyone will find the same faults that I did. Also, Penelope Ward is a great write who obviously makes you care greatly for her characters.

I might be a little biased because I love Penelope Ward and her flawed, flawed characters. Skylar and Mitch broke my heart and patched it back together quite a lot during this story. Ward’s smut is also pretty darn good so if you’re into that well what are you waiting for.
