After documenting her investigation into the disappearance of Andie Bell into a podcast, fans are begging for more. Pip is hesitant to unhinge her life all over again when her friend Connor approaches her, desperate to find his older brother Jamie. Pip dives head first back into "Sarge" mode and races against the clock to save her friends brother, no matter the consequences.
Exploring the themes of justice and second chances, 'Good Girl, Bad Blood' told the story of Max Hastings trial as well as took the reader along for the investigation into Jamie Reynolds disappearance. The stories were told through a blend of narrative, interviews, images, podcast recordings and case notes, I think I enjoyed how much more appeared to be happening in this novel over the first. The plot was certainly twisty!
My main motivation for reading the sequel of this series was to see what happened to Pip, I was much more intrigued to see what happened to her. In particular her self discovery across the two books was something that I enjoyed the most. The ending was an especially emotional and scaring moment for the character as she was forced to grow up very quickly.
Although I enjoyed the story more than the first novel (a whole 1.5 stars more), I did question how so many people seemed to know the exact time they saw Jamie on the night of his disappearance and then the last minute piece of evidence that came so late in the novel, preventing any read-as-you-go-detectives from working out the ending.
For lovers of the TV series Veronica Mars and novel Sadie.

This story was a great way to continue Pip’s journey as a lil detective. I can’t wait to start the next book, I never want her journey to end.
Spoilers ahead:
I had a weird feeling since the beginning of the book about the new neighbors, but when they told Pip about the watch being stolen, and Charlie giving her that lil pep talk after the verdict of Max, I put my suspicions behind…crazy turn out. I was suspect of Arthur Reynolds almost the whole time due to the last book throwing that twist with Cara’s father.
I remember Stanley showing up at the graveyard and I did actually think he was Layla Mead. Or that Luke Easton was…which reminds me, did Pip ever give him his $900?
Ravi and Pips relationship is so fricking cute and I’m SOOO happy that the author established their connection. It’s so sweet.
Jamie’s whole story was a lil weird. It is crazy to think mans would just kill for someone he doesn’t even know in real life. He needs some major therapy.
I loved how this one was just like the first. So many twist and turns and questions until the very end.

I have nothing to say other than the fact that Pip has got to be the busiest 18 year old I know and small towns hold the biggest secrets.
