I was nervous going into this because vampire romance books have been letting me down lately. FORTUNATELY this was actually really enjoyable.

While the characters were extremely stupid at times and really tried my patience, I felt like it was made up for in how funny I found the book. A lot of the trying to patience was from a joke going on too long, but it didn’t ruin my enjoyment of the earlier parts of the joke.

Also the romance was really cute! It was nice watching these two fall for each other and their dedication to each other. I also liked that when they were thirsting after each other it didn’t feel out of place or like it was happening at weird times. And honestly the spice was actually alright, I’ve listened to so much bad spice this was a nice little treat.

Overall, it was a cute, simple read! I’m looking forward to the sequel!

3.5 stars. This was cute and fluffy and had some hilariously cringeworthy moments (the text conversations between the first few chapters were great). It seemed like 80% of the plot happened in the last 15% of the book though, so honestly that weird pacing lowered my opinion of the book as a whole. It was a nice fluffy brain break, but neither one I’d really recommend nor one I plan on returning to.

I like this one. I liked how chill it was and that it took place in Chicago. I love magical realism and I think this handled that well. I also appreciated the plot being just enough and the the third act being only an external conflict that didn't affect the actual relationship.

The characters were good. I wish there was a little bit more flavor out side of the (oy) Reylo conventions, but I got some chuckles out of the interactions. I think there could have been a bit more momentum in the relationship, which kept me from reaching to immediately get back into it.

I did want to toss that one fedora-wearing vamp into the trash though. Too cringe even for me. I think he could have been written in a way that was funnier as opposed to kind of triggering, honestly. But that's minor, mostly.

Interested to see what this author does next and would love to see more lightly paranormal works!

I thought the characters were very lovable and it was fun reading Frederick learn how to blend in with the rest of society. I thought it was very cute how
one of his abilities was producing fruit! Such an interesting and unique twist compared to other vampire books I have read.
I wished the book was longer, I felt like it was a bit rushed at the end and I was not ready for the ride to end!

This book is literally perfect. A meet cute Paranormal Romance. Tropes are forced proximity, miscommunication, age gap, and grumpy sunshine. This book is definitely going to be one of my favorite vampire books of all time. It was so cute.

I knew this started off as a Reylo fic but neither actor in said roles appeared in my head for me. So if you're not a Reylo fan, you might be able to detach yourself from that fandom completely while reading this (in fact, the MMC was Jonathan Bailey in my head). This was a very easy to read light-hearted romance book with a rushed and a bit of a silly third act conflict. If you're looking for fluff and comedy with some spicy scenes, this is a good one to pick up.
