I like this one. I liked how chill it was and that it took place in Chicago. I love magical realism and I think this handled that well. I also appreciated the plot being just enough and the the third act being only an external conflict that didn't affect the actual relationship.

The characters were good. I wish there was a little bit more flavor out side of the (oy) Reylo conventions, but I got some chuckles out of the interactions. I think there could have been a bit more momentum in the relationship, which kept me from reaching to immediately get back into it.

I did want to toss that one fedora-wearing vamp into the trash though. Too cringe even for me. I think he could have been written in a way that was funnier as opposed to kind of triggering, honestly. But that's minor, mostly.

Interested to see what this author does next and would love to see more lightly paranormal works!

Just absolutely ridiculous and totally trope-y. I loved it. Perfect palate cleaner and laugh out loud read. Would recommend to anyone who likes romance with a little spice and funny, lighthearted books.

My favorite part of the book is when Frederick goes to Crate and Barrel. Whenever I grab a sauce pan I chuckle to myself now.

My favorite part about this book was the notewriting. I love that the chacters get to know each other through little letter they leave each other every day. I also find it super cute that we learn the most about Frederick's character through his journal entries or his correspondence with Reginald and other background characters.

The plot was very simple, and the book was a fast read. Definitely a sweet comfort snack. 🥰

This book is literally perfect. A meet cute Paranormal Romance. Tropes are forced proximity, miscommunication, age gap, and grumpy sunshine. This book is definitely going to be one of my favorite vampire books of all time. It was so cute.

Incredibly wholesome take on the vampire romance troupe!

Despite how cute and cozy this cover looks you should know going in that this is an adult romance. There is a lot of sexual tension and one open door sex scene between our two leads.
