I had a lot of fun with this book. The writing is solid and there’s some good descriptions and entertaining dialogue. This book is genuinely funny, and Frederick’s navigation of the modern world is done really well. The scenes with the saucepans and his coffee shop escapades really made me laugh. This book is very entertaining and most of all it’s quite light – there is drama but it’s very, very minimal, in my opinion.
The romance is quite good, they have really nice, easy chemistry and the dynamic between them is a lot of fun. I liked how their relationship developed and it was cute to see Frederick’s thoughts in the openings of each chapter.
I will say though that whilst I did enjoy reading it, my rating isn’t really based on that; I did like it but it wasn’t a favourite. But I do think that aside it was a perfectly good and well-written book and it’s doing what it does very well. If you’re looking for something quirky and easy to read, then this is a good choice. It wasn’t entirely my cup of tea but it was a good read nonetheless.
Content Notes: Vampires, roommates, bargains/deals/wagers, forced proximity.
Warnings:
Other:, oral sex..

No condoms are used and no references to STIs or birth control, I assume because the MMC is a vampire.laurensofar's review

Similar to The Flatshare but with a vampire twist. I feel the main conflict could have been drawn out a little more. Looking forward to the second in the series!

3This was a cute lil rom com about a displaced 18th century vampire, and his new roommate, an artist from the 21st century. It was silly, sweet, and a fun read going into October. It reminded me a lot of the movie Kate & Leopold starring Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman, but in this case, instead of the Duke of Albany coming through to the 21st century, its a vampire. It was silly and a good time, definitely not an absolute favorite but very enjoyable.
