My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levine is an original and fun take on the Vampire Genre. Growing up with the Vampire Lestat as an anchor, I  I never thought to look for a new vampire read in the Romantic Comedy section, but this one has left me scouting the shelves for more.  This had a wonderful comic irony to all the banter and dialogue that drew me in dispute the pre divinity of the vampire trope, but again that's part of the kitsch of vampire stories that I love

Thank you Netgalley and Berkeley Romance for the ARC that I read

I loved this, it was a cute read for a vampire story and I loved the interactions between the MCs. Frederick was a great character and really well written, he made me laugh a lot. Excited for the second instalment

This was a fun goofy book that had me cackling at multiple points throughout. It was an interesting premise and I think the author did a *mostly* good job with it.

Unfortunately, it seemed like once it hit around the 3/4 point that the writing started going downhill. I don’t know if they ran out of time or what.

The sex scene(s) were alright, but what kept killing it was how often she said “please” during it. I had to go back and do a search in kindle to make sure I caught them all - she said “please” a whopping SEVEN times, and he said it once. That is bonkers and got really annoying.

The whole third act twist was not only somewhat bizarre, but totally anticlimactic. And I’m all for leaving an open ending if it’s going to be turned into a series, but I thought the ending was kind of lazy/wishy-washy.

So up until that stuff happened, I was totally planning on giving it 5 stars. After the sex scene(s) I thought about knocking a half star off, but after that third act crap I’m knocking it down to 4 stars. It’s disappointing when good books start falling apart at the ends.

I’ll definitely still recommend this to other people bc the humor is fantastic. I just wish they had spent a little more time fleshing out the last quarter of the book.
