Big idea sci-fi at its absolute best. Stunning concepts on almost every page. There's some very fun meta stuff going on, with qntm playing with how they present their work

It was a good read, the last few chapters required a few re-reads to understand.

But a mind-bending thriller & a fun read.

Incredibly disjointed, especially to begin. Characters lacked distinguishing characteristics, and sometimes didn't appear for several sections at a time, hard to keep straight. Became nearly incomprehensible to me - everything might as well have been magic in the final quarter. Hard to keep the central conflict straight. Equally hard not to compare it to Ra, which was better in just about every way. The superheroes with ascending power levels aspect was intriguing, but abandoned, by the second half the Powers aren't really even that important. Had some clever ideas, and some intense fight and destruction scenes, which were all well done, but not enough to save it.

Genuinely one of the most scatter-shot and overall confusing books I've ever read, yet I just couldn't help but kind of enjoy myself! For every new character I couldn't keep track of, or yet another baffling pacing choice, there was incredibly well written and interesting spots of sci-fi in there.
I'm definitely more on qntm's wavelength when it comes to their short stories, as their ability to come up with interesting sci-fi premises and worlds is almost unparalleled. But they definitely need some work in making their full length novels easier to read and follow. Probably gonna wait on Antimemetics until V2 gets published by an actual publisher with professional editors.
