Far too long but an interesting plot. Could have been reduced significantly without losing anything. Listened to as audiobook and the many online conversations were extremely tedious to listen to.
Probably an easier read with the physical book

This book was so addicting and I kept staying up late to read more. I’m going to have to read the whole series from the beginning. But it’s 1,000 pages of slow burn between Robin and Strike culminating in…nothing. Strike is supposed to be a great detective but he can’t detect that’s he’s in love with Robin?? Ugh I have the next book’s release date in my calendar. I don’t like how disability is portrayed through Kea though (i.e. she’s mostly faking/exaggerating her symptoms).

Another page turner of a thriller by Robert Galbraith but to be honest the negatives outweighed the positives this time. This book really needed an edit, A BIG EDIT! It was way to long, with too many suspects in my opinion.
The ending and resolution was climatic but so incredibly short for this length of book, which was highly dissapointing.
The romance element, which frankly it my core draw to the series (including the easy writing style), has now been dragged on so long, that the miscommunication trope is tiresome and frustrating, I'm seriously considering not returning to the series becuase of this alone. This is book 6! With only 4 short sections at the most which showed any sort of emotional connection is poor, I've sadly lost patience. Alongside this being an unnecessary mountain of a book (1000+ pages), I don't think I will continue, instead I will lazily wait for the tv adaptations for the foreseeable, or I might delve into it again when desperate.

Quite a good read but it does get a bit tedious after a while - it could have been a shorter (all the stuff with the neo-nazis didn’t add much to the story). It is well written though and keeps you guessing to the end of the book.
