Way too long. Way too many characters who’s point I still can’t see and the “big reveal” was very underwhelming. Would have loved some more pages dedicated to explaining motive and method and A LOT LESS pages for the rest.

A lot of characters in the Strike-series who have disabilities or who are
Mentally or chronically ill are portrayed with a certain note of skepticism towards the validity of their ailments. Strike on the other hand is always portrayed as someone who doesn’t want to be seen as disabled and who “doesn’t let their disability limit them”.

This is a decent book. Not my favorite in the series. There was relationship development between Ellacott and Strike. The plot was hard to follow at times, and I felt it was predictable.

This book is 32 hours on audiobook and over 1,000 pages in hardcover.  Large cast of characters set in the world of online gaming.  Hard to follow in audiobook format.  Ending anticlimactic.  Overly long.

I just didn't expect it , I was so suprised at who it was.  It was so well written and through the whole thing I was just gripped and felt emotions as things went on . Initially the text chats were a bit difficult to understand but I quickly got used to it. I'm just , wow . It was so tense in the end with everything that happens to Robin and strike. I'm so tense about Robin and her date with Murphy when strike is just wanting her  , he needs her. But him changing the door was so amazing and emotional
