Terribly structured with insane POV and time shifts throughout.  Also, needless repetitive info but also strange lack of descriptive details. I needed way more Riley POV with attraction and yearning building on both sides.

This the first lesbian romance that made me cry when the non-destined pair broke up. Even so, I really liked the book and started reading book 2 immediately.

Love this series. It's about finding love when you least expect it and finding a family in those not related to you. It's an adorable little story with some twists and turns.

3 1/2 stars.

This was alright. Had I not started writing I would have liked it more than I did. But I can't help that I read as a writer now rather than a reader. Sometimes it sucks, but it is what it is.

I shouldn't have read this today for my own reasons but I got past that. The characters were likable, even if quite dim witted. Man, were they stupid, I didn't care for that. I mean they were grown adults (30s/40s) so you'd think they'd recognize the signs of love well before they did.

That I could look past. For me the writing style made me not like this book as much as I might have. The author overused character names, was repetitive, and didn't vary their writing. There was a passage (I forget when as I listened to it) that it was very staccato of she said, she nodded, she said, she cringed. Each sentence was the same length and it got boring after a while. POV changed in alternating paragraphs with thoughts from everyone. It just wasn't a style I enjoyed.

For the title and cover art, absolutely not what I was expecting. I fell a little in love with Fallon because I've felt and heard many of the same things. I cried when she made a connection I've never been able to in life about kids and I find myself shaking my head at her dumbassery. I loved this book, probably more than I should have.

I found this to be a really great read. At the beginning I was not a fan of the whole Andi situation, and to be honest, still not really. BUT, that being said, it was hard not to fall in love with the heart of that character by the end. All the characters were nicely developed and three-dimensional. Fallon is one of those rough exterior, but sweet, adorable and vulnerable on the inside. Riley... dear, sweet Riley and her little son, Owen. Between her and Fallon I was sitting there reading wanting to yell at the book. "OMG!! Why can't you see what everyone else sees?!" I get very involved with my reading. lol This book is an extreme slow burn to the point that at the end you're left saying "HOOOOLD UP! That's it?! I need more now!" Which is great since there is a sequel you can jump right into, and that is exactly what I plan to do. ;)

Not a bad read. I keep seeing Armstrong's books in the list of suggested books on my amazon account but this is the first I've read. Armstrong writes well - although the head hopping can be a bit annoying. This is a slow burn small town romance between a widowed newcomer and the owner of the local bar. I didn't realize that this was a trilogy/series and I couldn't figure out why one of the MC kept having sex with a secondary character ... I suspect that the first book was to establish the two MC friendship/burgeoning attraction and the next book will focus more on getting them together. Overall, not a high angst level - even though we have one character in a continuing affair with a married woman, it appears all the characters have a friend/relative who has been killed in a car crash (seriously ... everyone), and the fact that the other MC has picked up her two year old and moved cross country to a town she's never seen before to start again after the death of her husband (car crash). The characters are remarkably grounded and mature in dealing with a lot of the stuff that comes up.
