It was okay, but I had high expectations and was kinda disappointed. I really liked Athena's Child and A Spartan's Sorrow but this wasn't as good imo. I have to say that it also didn't help that I read a translated version and that translation was terrible and had very basic mistakes and spelling errors. Which is obviously not the author's fault, so maybe I'll try rereading it in English. It's not a bad book by any means, just not great. I think it starts off strong and then does not fully deliver. Still an engaging story that keeps you there until the end though.

This book started out very promising and then slowly seemed to turn into poorly edited fanfic. Don’t get me wrong, it had a great sense of female empowerment! But overall the book seemed disjointed. Hippolyte was the clear focus for 75% of the novel, and then suddenly the focus switched almost entirely to Penthesilia in the last quarter. The novel should have ended with Hippolyte’s death.

They were formidable. They were unbeatable. They were the Amazons. Highly recommend if you love stories of ancient Greece.
