The amount of engineering and science included in this book is pretty incredible. The ingenuity to both survive and thrive on this deserted island for several years is impressive!

I had no idea that Captain Nemo appeared in another book until Rick Riordan said his newest book was inspired by this one and "20,000 Leagues" and, granted, he's not super present in this one, it was interesting to read knowing he would appear eventually.
