The flowers, the gradual delving into a primary topic, and the rich and body-oriented images really worked for me. The longest and most detailed poem directly about the incest was extremely hard-hitting, and several poems in this collection will stick with me.

I'm not completely sure how to say this, but I felt like some of the language about current events and social justice movements pulled me out of the emotions a bit because they're more symbolic rather than specific. I also wanted some of the repetition between poems to develop in different directions. In combination, those two things meant I was going back and forth between intense emotional experiences with some of the poems, and more cerebral skimming with others, seeing rather than feeling connections.

Overall lovely, huge trigger warnings obviously, definitely worth a read!
