This was fine. I only read it because I was sick with the flu and Libby had the audiobook available for immediate borrow. It definitely did not need to be this long. I was a bit shocked at the twists at the end

we all knew Jack was shady and not gonna change, but rip xaden for taking one for the team

and the world building got a bit more interesting but if the next book is more than 500 pages, I'm gonna give it a miss (from the library)

Holy shit. Holy— that ending. Wow. Um, I got shooketh

It's really cool from the start to the end. I love Violet, she is so smart. The mind of a scribe and the heart of a rider, Andarna said. Really cool. The conflict between her and Xaden is really understandable, considering what they've been through, even though I read many people don't like it. But I understand. Anyway, I can't wait for the third book.

This was an excellent book! It got a little slow in the middle and I personally felt it lost a little traction, but it picked up again and had a great last half and amazing ending. The characters and plot are so so good
