it's really simple - this story is wonderfully written, the characters are superbly developed and lovable- so looking forward to book 2- one of my fave reads this year!! makes me look forward to my own road trip that is on the horizon
Lucky for Cari that I enjoyed the ending... no thanks to her. At least it didn't have me in knots the whole book like Dragonfly in Amber. It was nice, sweet, and light. I don't know what else to say about it without giving too much away... but that 2-4% of the book I about smashed my Kindle.
The book is well-written, attention-absorbing, hilarious, and poignant. It lost two stars, in my opinion, for the language and the offensive passages regarding intercourse. I'm much too conservative to enjoy that, but I was anxious enough to want to find out the ending.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Another one of my favourites for 2012.
This book heavily flirts with the line between being mundane and being interesting. Our heroine is dealing with some heavy issues as is the hero in this story. Obviously, this makes them perfect for one another. And of course our heroine finds the hero on her trip to finding herself. All of that is well and dandy, I just feel that certain parts of the story are rushed or left lacking in some way or another.
Redmerski utilizes a POV swap between the two characters, which is refreshingly well done. You find out motives behind things that one character did that seemed strange or silly as they retell or recall their actions and move the story forward.
I can understand why people love this book, but I can also understand why people wouldn't like this book at all. It reads like a young adult romance under the guise of an adult romance, so if you're a fan of both genres, I would say go for it; at the very worst you'll end up like me-in the middle of liking it and not liking it.

They spend so much time in New Orleans together, and I wish we got to read more about the adventures they had after some of the angsty-ness had settled. Like another show they did together, something, anything, to help strengthen their whirlwind-fall-in-love tale. I almost wish the hero had died at the end, just to make this a romantic tragedy through and through. Even that ( his suddenly falling ill and seemingly dying) seemed abrupt. The graveyard scene and following scenes read more like an epilogue than final chapters.Redmerski utilizes a POV swap between the two characters, which is refreshingly well done. I enjoyed this book A LOT! :) A road trip with a good looking guy, who has great taste in music... sounds like a great time! I felt for these characters! I love what Andrew brought out of Camryn so that she could finally start living and enjoying her life without inhibition. I will definitely read this book again! Looking forward to reading more from this author.
I enjoyed this. The first half-ish was pretty slow but it picked up and I found it pretty sweet. Yes, it's one of those books that can be picked apart and criticised heavily. I can understand the reasons people had a problem with it. I just thought it was an absorbing read and I loved watching their relationship develop. I also loved the road trip aspect. Put a road trip in a book and I will most likely like it. I especially love road trips where a romance is blossoming.
I didn't like the constant use of "babe" and "baby". I get annoyed at over-use of pet-names. At first, it was cute. As it went on, it got more and more obnoxious. I didn't like the rocky start with Cam's "slutty" best friend and all that other drama that went on with the slutty best friend's boyfriend. It just felt unnecessary. I guess it wouldn't have been so bad but how can you be best friends with someone you think so little of? It just felt silly to have Cam speak so badly of her best friend.
I liked it from the beginning but I could only read small bits at the beginning. I think I found it a bit slow, even though I was enjoying it. I think that's pretty weird. It started off with a lot of cute banter, which I loved but found a bit dull at the same time. Once they started on their full-fledged road trip, it picked up for me.
I cried at a couple of parts. I definitely felt the feels. That's always a good sign.

Thiiiis was an excellent book. The journey of these two characters, the slow build in a relationship between them, that they found each other by coincidence and yet so needed each other in their lives. And yes, the relationship build and anguish and climax and shockers were great. But really, this book was about a journey, both in the literal sense and in the path that each of the main characters had to travel to get from one place in their lives to another.
I laughed, I cried. I smiled a lot, a frowned a lot. I cried again. I laughed again. This was really a good book. So glad there’s another one coming out later in the year. But really, this ending was also very near perfection.
