Really enjoyed this one! Enemies to lovers in the mountains, old family feud, and funny banter running through the whole book! Bridget inherited a ski lodge after her late father and is equally determined and terrified to keep the lodge going. On the other hand, Kennedy is traveling from Miami to deal with the ski lodge her father who is no longer able to deal with because of dementia. Unfortunately for both of the women, the years of hateful relations between their fathers soured the atmosphere on the Elk mountain and poisoned the air with a heap of prejudices. And it gets complicated when you are supposed to hate someone you are attracted to, right?

I was honestly not expecting one of the main characters to be such an ice queen at the beginning and even though it is not my favourite trope, I was so rooting for Kennedy to get through Bridget! I was clutching my e-reader and gritting my teeth because Bridget was at the beginning a big a-hole. And Kennedy really had bad luck right from the start with pretty much everything. All of it was a little bit frustrating to read but at the same time, it made the connection between the two women so much more satisfying.

The setting itself was also top-notch. Skiing is probably the only sport I'm passable at doing and I love snowy mountains, warm lodges with frosted over windows, and hot chocolate in front of a fireplace. I wish I could read this at a ski lodge in the middle of winter right after getting off the slope. This is a perfect book for that. Alas, I finished this book while traveling to uni in the May heat and enjoyed it too, so if any of the things above sparked your interest, I recommend picking this up. I for sure will pick something by Elle Spencer again because this was truly an enjoyable read for me.

Thanks to Bold Strokes Books and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
