read in 5 days
follows august, who moves to nyc to finish up college, and jane, who she meets on the subway. turns out jane is stuck on the subway and is actually from the 1970s, and they work together to figure out what happened
- started pretty slow - plot didn’t really begin until like 1/4 in
- very overtly progressive (which is great, but felt really forced at points)
- writing is better than red white & royal blue but it’s not as cute
- not a huge fan of the intersecting plot lines even though it’s expected as soon as you learn about them
- seggs on the subway

I love this book. So. So. Much.
SO EASILY FIVE STARS
I’m madly in love with the NYC life romance. I’m also madly in love with August and Jane’s relationship. Their relationship’s progression was so MEANINGFUL AND GENUINE AND ADORABLE
I love the wonderful representation of August’s life moving into the new city. To me, stuff like that brings me sm comfort and I really like the chaotic loveliness of it. The city rain

I love warm, comforting stories with found families and found love, where the conflicts aren't easily avoidable by just, you know, talking. This was a really sweet story and even though some of it was a stretch regarding how Jane got to where she was and how she got back , I still really enjoyed it. The one thing that prevents me from giving this a higher rating is the pacing. It can be a little slow at parts and maybe drags on a little bit too much at the end, but I guess the latter is forgivable when it's a HEA.
