This is a exactly the self care book that helps me reset my mental health.

Such an easy read with a great lesson! It made me laugh and cry and I couldn't put it down; managed to read it in two days.
It really makes you think about how lucky you are in life, wherever you are.

For anybody relatively new to the 'changing-the-way-we-think' process, this book is a winner. It is written with a flow of ease and compassion. Easy processes to implement in any lifestyle or stage of life.
On a personal level, I found the book didn't so much teach me anything I didn't already know, or show me anything I hadn't already practised in my life. It did, however, spark my fading light a little and inspire me to get back in touch with the world around me and rekindle a trust in others.
Very well written.
As someone who thrived on the likes of Louise Hay and Shakti Gawain as a teenager, I found this book a very well presented, repackaged way of putting across messages and lessons I had learnt as a young woman.
Sometimes, inspirational lessons need to be revisited and presented in a way that suits a changing society.
This was that book for me.

A great, inspiring, well-written book. The stories were engaging and it was really informative.

Funny, well-written, but simple

I enjoyed this book much more than I'd anticipated. I was recommended it by a colleague, and expected it to be a quite serious and self-helpy. To my pleasant surprise, it was a truly enjoyable read. Quite humorous, but also inspiring, with a few moments of tears as well.

Kinda boring as it just kinda happens and both a lot and nothing occurs. It is touted as a self-help book, but it's really just an autobiography about how this guy is helpful to people. I'm not sure how it really helps the reader other than being inspirational.

I only recently came across Hugh van Cuylenburg through his podcast The Imperfects, and found his and the other hosts vulnerability so refreshing. When I heard he had written a book I searched for it immediately.

There are so many wonderful stories in this book and the perspective of prioritising gratitude, empathy and meditation showed how we can build our own self esteem and hopefully be happier in the long run. I’ve taken lots of tips from this book for my own children and have ordered the GEM cards and family journal.

I found myself constantly smiling whilst listening to this book. Inspiring and heartfelt.

If Hugh only has one fan it's me.
