Another fun ride from Karen M. McManus! This time with an inheritance and (probably too many) mentions of incest.
I read this in one sitting, which is to be expected when I pick up one of McManus’ books. There is something about her writing that I really vibe with. And while I wasn’t nearly as invested in the mystery of this as I was in the One of Us books, I enjoyed the main characters more.
The ending also fell a bit flat for me. There was a complete lack of tension once the story started getting resolved, so those last couple of “reveals” (if we can even call them that - starting with the phone call) felt unnecessary.
Overall, though, this was a great time and a solid way to spend a Saturday.
