*I received a free copy of this book from the author via voracious readers only in exchange for an honest review*
Wow this one was great, it’s short but it’s so well written and well paced that unlike a lot of other short books it doesn’t feel lacking or rushed. Even in the short amount of time it took me to read I really felt connected to the characters and I really want to see what happens next.

The storyline was pretty interesting, I feel like it was written in a way that left a lot questions unanswered so you would read the next story in the series. I wasn’t exactly a fan of some of the events escalating rather quickly without much explanation. For example the main characters relationship evolved from one extreme to the next. I would probably read the next set just to see if some of my questions get answered.

I loved the combination of urban fantasy, suspense, and supernatural wrapped into this story. While reading, I was reminded of a blend of Supernatural and Dexter. The characters were very believable and made me laugh out loud quite a few times. This is a fantastic read and quick for those who are pressed on time!

This is the start of a fun series. Unfortunately this seems to be the only book readily available as of January 2020. Hopefully they will be released again soon.

I was honestly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. It's a super quick urban fantasy type book. I think the author did a fantastic job of combining gritty crime, suspense, a hint of romance and fantasy. I loved Zuric and Morgan!!!! I'm interested in seeing how it all plays out. you can tell the author took a lot of time and effort to put together a novelette that was scene grabbing yet informative. I'm curious about the trolls, Trents upcoming role in the next ones, Morgans back slide and what the Captain really has in store for Morgan.

This novella had a lot of potential, but it fell into too many common tropes: tough girl from the Big City moves to the South; hooks up with local bad boy who is just misunderstood; torn between doing her job and having sex with guy; finds out can have both.
Some of the supernatural elements were interesting but were overshadowed by the gratuitous graphic sex scenes and predictable story.
