   Can a book be spicy but wholly unerotic? If so, this book is it. The wording the author used was a big turn-off.

   Glyn was annoying as hell. Not because she was depressed, but because she fought how she so obviously felt throughout the whole book. Lastly, the final "twist" was pretty obvious.

   The side characters were the only good part of this book. Because of that and what others have said about the series improving, I will try one more book in the series. 

Narrator Rating: 5.0 stars

    The narrators were amazing and the best part of the book TBH.

This book reads like a published (with no editing) Wattpad story. I committed to finishing it, until I got 300 pages in and realized I had hundreds to go. I felt relief once I officially put it down as a DNF.

Something is clearly wrong with me because I'm quite certain there's supposed to be a sort of shock factor with this book and I just felt.......not much. 

Also, can we please stop making the super dirty books have main characters that are 19 years old? WTF is this?

REVIEW: Sadly I did not love this book, but that is a reflection of MY preferences, NOT of the book, author, or plot. Many folks rate this book, and the full Legacy of Gods series, very highly. I am not knocking the author, her story or her writing. I have no issues with any of that. I quite like Rina Kent's writing style. I am NOT yucking your yum. 

My challenge is... I hate bully romances. Like I REALLLLLY am not comfortable with bully romances, yet I keep trying to read them. Other readers give them rave reviews, so I get the worst case of FOMO and try to enjoy them. However, it never ends well for me. I despise when the MMC forces the FMC into s3xual situations, usually against her will and / or using violence or physical intimidation. Degradation isn’t my yum.

That trope really works for some people and good on you if that includes you. Sadly I just need to remember that it isn’t my cup of tea.

Please go ahead and read God of Malice by Rina Kent if you enjoy dark bully romances. You will not be disappointed. I enjoyed her writing style and can truly appreciate how she crafted the characters and their intricate thought processes. I will try some different books by this other, outside of this series.

The main characters keep saying they're changing but it's not reflected in the story well. Minimal plot. Repetitive in multiple ways. I understand that this is a huge interconnected series/world but it leaves a lot to be desired.

The climax was very anti-climactic. But it was a fun read!
