I did have to google does this book get better cause that first chapter was craaaaazy, but once we got past all that stuff I hate to say, loved the book

I liked seeing their engagement too at the end

I now realize I got caught in a 34 book series, this is going to cost a lot

Girl develops Stockholm syndrome and falls in love with her rapist. If you are okay with sexual assault being the literal foundation of the FMC/MMC’s relationship, then read away. Anyone who enjoys this for the “spice” aka forced sodomy, should go to therapy. I love a spicy book, but you know what I love more? Consent.

10 chapters of sexual assault and stalking. I get it is a dark romance, but it's not even cnc, it's just non-con. Plus the two main characters have zero chemistry.

11 chapters in and I just was able to get invested enough. I could not see if or how this book was going anywhere but a Stockholm syndrome type romance with a lot of trauma involved. I think we could have gotten the psychopath/over powering vibes without the mmc needing to have sexually assaulted her and I would be much more invested in the psychopath bully type romance. I was not given any redeeming characters for him past his 'impulse control', which was already proven to not be fool proof. I've enjoyed other Rink Kent books and will read others by her in the future but this was not it for me.
