I decided to read a new author. Someone whose work I was curious about for two years. That author is Rina Kent. The book that I read is God of Malice. Dark Romance is a genre that has had me in a chokehold for a year. My motto is as long as it has a good story I’m game. God of Malice has a really good story. I thought that I knew what to expect and then I read the first chapter. My jaw dropped and pretty much remained on the floor. Killian Carson is different that’s all I will say. He is a true psychopath. Glyndon King got exactly what she wanted and then some. She enjoyed the ride literally. I never imagined that I would read a story where a psychopath would truly fall in love but there’s a first time for everything. 

The fact that this book is apart of a series but a standalone story is intriguing. Glyndon and Killian’s love scenes reach a gray area that some may find difficult to stomach. Their love scenes are extremely spicy. My curiosity got the best of me because I wanted to know exactly how the story would end. All of the secondary and side characters were two dimensional. I’m looking forward reading the other books in the Legacy of the God’s series.

The first chapter includes a scene where a character’s consent is dubious. She gives oral sex to another character who is rough on her. This same character manipulated her into doing so, Did I mention she was about to attempt Suicide? This dude shows up and basically doesn’t really talk her out of it. He is an unapologetic psychopath .

I enjoyed this story and the banter between the FMC and MMC, but not the forced sex. The whole “she says no, but the guy knows what she wants more than her” narrative is such nonsense. So, I’m not sure I’ll continue the series.

I would definitely check trigger warnings before reading it. It’s an amazing book. Probably my fav book of the year.

Okay my introduction to Rina Kent's book and it's a definite eye-opener. Maybe it was from too much romantasy that I forgot how dark and intense dark romance books are.

This romance isn’t for everyone… However I enjoyed this psychotic deranged story between Glyndon and Killian. Highly recommend to listen to the audible, voice actors were amazing!

Glyndon’s growth from start to finish was good to see, because her back bone was needed to add to her character development. Her growth and coming out of her shell was evident and felt like an additional plus for the plot as well and the development of the relationship between Glyndon and Killian.

Killian… I have no words for the man but I kinda like him.

However I wasn’t expecting to be so invested in the plot of this story and I thoroughly enjoyed the side characters and their relationships through the story!
