This book falls somewhere in the middle for me. Every character was pretty awful in the first quarter, and I was very close to not continuing this book because of it. Everyone was extremely childish (except the actual child somehow), but over time they finally got their act together and it got better. While the characters' grudges that lasted into adulthood was annoying, I can sort of understand it, as well as the turnaround when Claire and Iris start to become friends with Delilah. Sometimes you can hold a childish grudge during a time when you don't actively see the person you have a grudge with, but then all it takes is a kind wave to you from that person for that grudge to melt away, and for you to realize it was a silly grudge to keep. So, I can understand this situation from personal experience. Overall, I did not love this book but it was written fairly well even though I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style generally. The story became a lot cuter and more enjoyable after a little over the first quarter.

Not as cute as I like but I did get a little misty-eyed at one point so that was nice. Spicy!! Gay spice infinitely better than straight spice. I don’t love series and very obvious set-ups for next books and this set up the next two books so I was rolling my eyes a bit. Perfectly fine book but I won’t be reading any more unless I get bored and even then I’m skipping Astrid’s book
