***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
This is the first book I have read from Dia Cole and it was pretty good. This was a totally different concept in any book I have read. Combining Wolves and Zombies while an apocalypse is starting.
Havana ... aka Vana... is a stripper trying to make ends meet. All of the sudden there is this outbreak from a flu vaccine turning people into zombies. During all of this, three mysterious men are there to take her someplace safe on the orders of Vana's ex-boyfriend. Yeah! There is a lot to take in1
There was a lot going on in the book and it was a lot to process to keep track of. I am looking forward to the next book in the series to find out what happens and how Vana will deal with everything.

## Tropes
-Omegaverse
-Dystopian future
-Rescuer to fucker
-Why choose

## 📖 My Thoughts
I read this book without reading the first for some unknown reason (properly a glaring lack of intelligence) so sorry if anything is answered in the first. I loved that the hierarchy seemed a bit reversed compared to usual omegaverse, the women weren't mostly omega and the men alphas, it seemed if anything the other way round. The Doctor was sweet but Liam was the cuddle giant I really loved. Gabriel was a bit more meh but I'm not so into broody men. I liked the setting, the vaccine turning people into monsters made it feel a bit different from other stories

## ⚠️ Triggers
-Mass loss of life (background)
-Death
-Torture
-Death of family members
-Abuse

## 🌶️ Spice
Spice took a bit of time, think it was halfway before real spice. Although there were heat aspects, there was some spice before which I personally prefer. Some more one on one aspects as well as group.

This a different shifter and apocalypse story. But it is a good different. It is unique and creative.

The story behind characters are different, sad and unpredictable.

This was a great read!

The wait for book 2 of Claiming Her Mates series was well worth it. This is a great combination of action, drama, steam, conflict, romance, apocalypse and zombies. This is very well written and has incredible excitement. I liked the emotion and twist and turns in the story line. This is an incredible addition to the series with a cliffhanger ending. I cannot wait for the next book.

This is an amazing finish to the series. Loose ends have been tied and the steamy is ever present. This is very well written and has very strong characters.

Paranormal Romances are something that I haven’t read in quite some time but, Claiming Her Mates by Dia Cole has reminded me of why I use to read these books. This wolf shifter romance story kept me entertained with the suspense and mystery - I’m not crazy about the zombie part, that's just me. (So I am not holding that against my review.) But the characters were so likable and swoon-worthy, that I want more.
The Romance Reader in me loved the chemistry between Havana and her men (Mason, Gabriel, and Liam). And don’t get me started on the steamy sexy moments – so yummy! This might have been my first book by Dia and I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.

Claiming Her Mates: Book 1: (A Paranormal Shifter Romance Series)
By Dia Cole
4 stars

I really enjoyed this story; it had this great originality to it that made it really interesting to read. I quite like shifter stories and have read a few and Claiming Her Mates was definitely one of my favourites that I have read. This book is also the first that I have read by this author and I thought that she had a really engaging writing style, one that captured my attention easily and held it throughout the book. I really liked Havana and I thought that she was a strong female lead in the story. I will admit I’m not usually one for stories that involved or potentially involve multiple partners but it was different in this book and I loved how protective Liam, Mason and Gabriel were over Havana.
This book has definitely paved the way for what I think will be a great series and I am definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next.
