Blaze of Memory is the 7th book in the Psy/Changeling series by Nalini Singh. This is one of two books in the series that didn't get 4 or more stars from me, and this is my lowest rated Nalini Singh book (sadness, because I want to stan her and her work but uhhhhh...just not this book). I wanted to like Katya and Dev's story but I was just really bored during this book, it wasn't very exciting.

There were three issues that I had with this book. Firstly, I don't like how Katya throws two shoes at Dev because she's angry at him for a decision he made. Don't throw shoes at your partner or significant others, that's abusive and not okay. This came out in 2009 so I'm going to hope the author doesn't continue to write scenes like this.

Secondly,
can we move away from the "the husband/father has a mental hiccup and decides to kill his wife/the mother before be comes to his senses". I'm so tired of this shit, it's old and misogynistic and ass and mentally ill people are more likely to BE hurt than to hurt others.

Thirdly, how tf did
Katya shoot Ming in the head, point blank, and he's going to make a full recovery? HUH? EXCUSE ME? Nah, I don't believe that one bit.

I liked the ending
it was looking like it wasn't going to be a happily ever after for Katya and Dev and I was really sad. I'm so happy the children had the ability to save her.

This book has an okay amount of spice! I'd say 3 🌶️ chilies/ out of 5🌶️ chilies worth of spiciness is in this book.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and I'm giving it 2.5 stars out of 5.
