loved the world building! it’s hard for a sequel to surpass the original, but this duology was good overall! i think if my middle school self had gotten ahold of this series, it would’ve been lifechanging.

This book does what a sequel does. It closes the story. That said, I found it underwhelming compared to the first. It felt like the end occurred very quickly and almost out of nowhere. Everything tied up fairly nearly, but in a way that was a bit anticlimactic. Too suddenly, a plot point that I thought would be the moment the book turns, was actually the beginning of the end.
(Also I found it distracting the way that a writer somehow becomes a soldier. I was sort of missing the trope of "I'll use [insert character's innate/learned strength here] to combat the villain." Seeing a writer suddenly doing all these mighty/physically intense tasks was hard to buy and took me out of it.)

I thought all day why on earth I couldn’t give more stars to this book. I liked it, I absolutely adore Roman C Kitt (😫🛐🛐🛐), I like Iris, I love Attie and Tobias (🛐🛐🛐)…

I guess I was kind of underwhelmed with the ending of Dacre and Enva; don’t know what did I expect but it wasn’t that 🧐

Aside from that, THE ROMANCE 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 found myself giggling and kicking my feet at various points where Roman’s words just got into my skin 😫🛐
Anyway, we stan Roman and Tobias 🥰❤️🤌🏻
